Turn the other way

First rehersed November 2010
First gigged may 2011 – the maze, Nottingham
Recorded august 2011

Turn the other way is the only song on the album where the writing came together entirely in the rehearsal room. Nick and Rob got the riffs together, and Paul very quickly came up with the vocal hook. Despite Dave making persistant jokes about the pearl jam influence in TTN’s sound, We felt in would be tongue in cheek to arrange the song structure the same as a well known PJ song. An early mix of the track from the album sessions even included a reference to the reverse reverb vocal effect from “even flow”.

The track was recorded in one live take, with minimal guitar and bass overdubs. This is one of 2 tracks recorded with nicks black les Paul, and the only track to feature standard c tuning.

Album Press Release

Alternative rock band Tribute to Nordberg release the self-recorded and produced debut album “The Day After” on their own record label, QRW Recordings on March 19th 2012.

Nottingham’s Tribute to Nordberg, featuring, Dave Carlill (drums), Nick ”Rockman” Chamberlain (Lead guitars, backing vocals), Rob “Bobby” Fleming (bass) and Paul Tebbatt (vocals and rhythm guitar) create a heavy rocking sound laced with melodies, by Drawing influences from such artists as The Smashing Pumpkins, Audioslave, Alice in Chains and The Deftones(to name a few).

From the big riffs of the bands’ debut single Breathless to the subtle dynamics and harmonies of Long Ride Home the band feel they have put together something to be proud of. “Our favourite albums always have a little bit of everything, heavy riffs, a mix of clean and distortion and last but not least melodies” say the band “we feel that we have achieved this with our debut album”

The band are currently in the process of booking gigs to support the release of the “The Day After” which will hopefully include festival appearances following the band’s debut appearance at the Y Not Festival in Derbyshire last year.

The album will be available to download from outlets such as Itunes, Amazon, eMusic and Spotify as well as physical copies via the bands website.
